a Bit of Bowling & a Bit of Yakitori

As Shota and I are leaving Japan in one month... (one month exactly today), he's parents have been organising more "Suzaki Family Time". Last Sunday they took us out for lunch to China Town and this weekend they took us bowling then out for Yakitori for Dinner. They are also trying to help me do "everything" in Japan that I have not yet done... Eg see Mt Fuji!

So for bowling the four of us (Shota's Parents) and Mei set off for an afternoon of Bowling fun! As it turned out, I was the worst... I started off ok... but as they afternoon progressed I got worse and worse, gutter ball after gutter ball :( Chisa was doing really well and scored a coupe of strikes! I wasn't as lucky and ended up cominng Last.

It was still a lot of fun :)

Our names displayed in Japanese... I am third from the top.

 Me doing terribly :(
 Shota in Action...

The final score;

1st Place Nobutaka - 337
2nd Place Shota - 309
3rd Place Mei - 262
4th Place Chisa - 231
5th Place Jesh- Ka - 166 :(
  Three games of Bowling sure works up a hunger!

We headed off into Machida to a very cute Yakitori Restaurant.

Yakitori is the name given to meat and vegetables that are chopped into bite size pieces and skewered onto bamboo sticks then grilled. Majority of the meat I liked.. I just had a problem with grilled skin, ofal, chicken tail, cartilage, gizzards.. etc etc.... Although some of the meat was hard to identify!

We also ordered Nabe. A hot pot placed on our table full of vegetables and boiling water... we ordered cheese to go in ours. Plastic Cheese lol very japanesey right??

Saturday Suzaki Family Day was lovely and we all left the restaurant soooo full and tired from all the bowling!!
xx
