Akihabara And Asakusa (again)

Well today Shota and I decided we would go to Asakusa...for the second time. The first time we went (last Monday) was a public Holiday in Tokyo, so it was rather busy. So we thought we'd go again, hoping the crowds would be smaller. Plus last time we were being shown the sights with Uncle Takashi and Cousin Jyun, neither whom were interested in stopping to look at all the Touristy gifts on sale.

So off we went from Machida at 9:30am....four trains and two hours later we arrived in Asakusa. We felt that last time it didn't take two hours and out it down to the fact we are both still learning how to travel on trains and the subway in Tokyo... Its slightly more difficult for me as the only map we had was in Japanese characters (which I cannot yet read) and the maps on the first couple of trains were also in Japanese characters...but thankfully signs in the stations are in English! And was easy to follows signs reading "Asakusa", so at the end of the day we made it in one piece and were quite proud of ourselves :)

There are lots of little Asian trinkets around and Kokeshi Dolls (kimmidolls in Oz).

After a quick meal of Tacoyashi...octopus balls!

I picked a fortune for Shota and I...which happened to be good. If it’s bad you can tie it on a metal frame out the front of the fortune building and let the wind take it...

Then as I couldn't resist, a banana dipped in chocolate! Complete with a koala biscuit stuck on top :)

Next we headed to Akihabara - Or Electric Town. This place is great is you are in the market for Electricals and love Anime... we unfortunately were not and do not... so the experience was more for sightseeing.

I loved the girls dressed in costumes, handing our pamphlet for Anime places... we attempted a photo of one of the girls, but sadly with no success...

Lol, I love the picture above!

hope you have enjoyed!!

goodnight
xx
