Bye Bye Osaka....

Taiyaki - tastes like a pancake with custard inside!! So yummy... Also is made with a sweet bean filling too, its a purple colour.

When Shota and I originally were making our "plan" for a month of travelling... we kinda made it backwards... and without doing a lot of research. Meaning that we booked Kyoto, then Nara then Osaka... then Aso and Buppu, the final destinations... leaving the middle few weeks blank! Then as we started booking more Hostels/Hotels we decided to add on two more nights to the already three nights we had booked in Osaka...... that meant we were staying in Osaka for five nights! This is "massive" according to a lot of well-known travel books we were reading suggested, especially as we had already been to Kyoto and Nara, so didn’t need to use Osaka as a base...

Anyway, in the end we are Sooooo glad we stayed in Osaka for five nights! The Hostel was amazing, clean (super clean), small (only fit 14 guests) and run by a lovely young couple and their little baby girl, Moka. She was the cutest! I loved her :) She would be carried around all day as her parents were washing and cleaning the Hostel. Another thing about the Hostel, was that there weren't many other people there, so we had the kitchen to ourselves most nights and most mornings. So it was a great way to save some cash and do a bit of cooking :) The location of the Hostel was easy to get to, close to two stations and situated in an undercover shopping strip... so lots of food vendors, cheap vege shops and of course a 100 Yen store!

The five nights went by really fast and we still managed to see a lot of sights and eat some amazing food! We also met a couple (from Australia) who were staying at the Hostel too. They were big "Anime" fans... and as I had no idea what Anime was all about, Rose was kind enough to explain. When I asked her what it was she liked about Anime, she said "two words... They're Awesume", so I believed her. Her and her boyfriend had also been shopping for some of their favourite Anime figurines... she showed us them and explained that in Australia they are more expensive. Now Shota and I want to bring some back with us and sell them on ebay... good idea? It turns out our Hostel had a few "Ghibli" films too, we were planning on watching one, as I was very excited to see what all the fuss was about! But we ran out of time... so we're gonna download one instead.

Okay I have slightly gone off the topic now.... here are some photos from Osaka that I have not yet posted... enjoy

Our "Modern Japanese twin room"

Mino-O Falls
Below is a "tempura style" leaf... Mmmm.....very popular as you set off on the walk up to the waterfall

Did i mention the crowds?? Insane!!

I found a Bride and Groom having their wedding photos taken... so i quickly snapped a couple too..

We spotted one monkey... can you see him with his pink bottom? (I can't either, I swear he was there though...)

On our second fabulous bus... leaving Osaka and heading over to Shikoku... in style :p

Yes, there was even a table for my laptop... (sadly no wi-fi).

Okay thats all for now.... we are currently on the Island "Shikoku" pretty much no other tourists come here... well apart from Japanese tourists. As there are only a couple of backpacker Hostels, and not in the places we wanted to visit, we are in cheap Hotels... stories and pictures to come!
