Mount Aso - Active Volcano

Mount Aso is the largest "active" volcano in Japan... and amoungst the largest in the world. We of course had to visit.

Sadly the weather was terrible... rainy and cold, but we still went up there just to see the crater, at Mt, Naka, which emits smoke and has "occasional" eruptions!!

Luckily no eruptions on the morning we were there... but my goodness did it smell!

Later we went to the only "organic cafe" in Aso, for a delicious meal and a glass of wine. The cafe was beautiful, so we wanted to share some photos of it with you all :)

Sorry for my lack of posts... we're back in Tokyo now and I've been in "Christmas" mode! But I have lots of things to write about... including a "padded" toilet seat cover :p no joke! So I will leave you with "Chou" cream bun..
