On Sunday afternoon, Shota's cousin invited us to go along with him his fiancé and his sister, for a cruise in Yokohama. Not having any other plans, we accepted the invitation.
We boarded the Ship late Sunday afternoon, around 2:30pm and were ushered into a stylish dining room. There we enjoyed a light afternoon tea of Chinese cuisine.
After the cruise, hungry for more Chinese food, we headed over to China Town. It was wonderful and so much bigger than Melbourne’s China down. Shota’s cousin Jyun’s fiancé spoke very good English, so after I completed her “fancy” nails, she asked me if I wanted to get mine done… Umm of course I do! So we have a date, the next time she goes to get hers done, I will be having my boring Australian nails, transformed into fancy Japanese ones! What this means is that I will either have a French manicure, but instead of the ends being white, they will alternate in bold glitter nail polish, perhaps a thumb nail completely covered in gems… its very popular here J And I do want to fit in!

And Back to China Town
I also mentioned to Jyuns Fiancé, Nori, that I enjoyed gyoza… So next thing Shota and I were lining up for the best gyoza in town. Very similar behaviour to people in Melbourne lining up for “Shanghai Dumpling Palace”…. But they haven’ t been closed by the health inspectors before!
We left China Town with full tummies and a bag of Japanese sweets for Shota’s family. It’s customary that we bring back presents (generally in the form of food). Happy as we had a wonderful afternoon and me excited as I had a new Japanese friend.
xx
You are both going to find Melbourne food a tad boring after all this exotic stuff you have been stuffing into your tummies!!!!! X
